Murrow and AP awards for investigative journalism and received recognition for excellence and fairness in political reporting from members of Texas’ Congressional delegation.
While in radio, he covered a broad range of issues with a special focus on education and immigration, two of the most important issues facing Texas and the nation. He also reported on stories of national importance including Hurricane Katrina, the BP oil spill, the prosecution of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, Andrea Yates’ release from prison, the death of Enron founder Ken Lay, and more.
Scott has moderated political debates of all kinds and has served as an analyst of Texas politics on TV, radio, and in print. His many television appearances include WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas/Fort Worth, KTVT Channel 11 in Dallas/Fort Worth, Fox 26 in Houston, and national broadcasts on CNN, Fox News Channel and others.

Scott was born in Wharton County where he lived and worked on his family farm. His daughter, Carolyn, is the reason for everything he does.
September 2023 Speaker Tom Glass
Tom Glass has spent many Texas legislative sessions advocating for legislation that will increase Texas liberty. In the last three legislative sessions, he has worked via his Texas Constitutional Enforcement group to work to push back on unconstitutional federal acts and during the COVID tyranny, against unconstitutional edicts and mandates by our governor, county judges, and mayors.
He also has created a group called Protect the Texas Grid, where he has worked to harden our electrical grid against numerous threats. He has worked with the League of Independent Voters to safeguard groundwater from suburban development at the expense of rural districts. And he created a Facebook group called Texas Legislative Priorities as a place where Republicans can coordinate to see that the legislative priorities of the Republican Party of Texas are implemented.
As a result of those efforts, he was recently awarded a 2021 Texas Conservative Leader Award from Texas Scorecard.
He is retired from a varied career in information technology at ExxonMobil where he primarily focused on cyber-security and security and controls. He has also worked in the oil patch.
He is a graduate of Odessa Permian High School, Texas A&M University (B.S., Chemical Engineering), Harvard Business School (MBA), and the University of Houston Law Center (J.D.).
Having been raised to revere the Texas and American founders and their ideas, Tom was condescendingly dubbed by one of his Harvard professors as the token "Lockean," referring to Tom's adherence to the most influential philosopher to the Founders, John Locke.
Tom has never practiced law for a living, treating his late-in-life law degree as a public policy finishing school. His wife persuaded him to go to law school by the following logic: "Isn't politics about making law? If you are trying to make something, shouldn't you know about what you are trying to make?"
Tom earned his way through Texas A&M with a half academic scholarship and a half track scholarship.
Tom is married to Kathie Glass, who ran for governor in 2010 and 2014. They have two grown children and one grandchild. They have enjoyed their ranch in western Lee County on the border with Bastrop County for over a decade.

March 2023 Texas Church Leaders
Texas Church Leaders was founded in 2022 by a group of local pastors in Washington County, Texas, to explore various expressions of partnership among like-minded churches and ministries. We shared the conviction that we are better together than we are alone. If a few believers are better together than in isolation, how much more for a few healthy local churches to partner together than go it alone?
We are not a replacement for denominational support and involvement, but we realized that no one understands your community quite like the other pastors who plow those fields alongside you. Shepherding God's people is a unique task and the times we live in present new challenges that pastors and church leaders have not faced in the history of our nation.
We believe that individual transformation must always precede community reformation. If we desire to see our communities changed, it starts with individual professions of faith and discipleship as we love God and love others. Our mission is simple: steward the gospel together to the glory of God.
The Texas Church Leaders are working together to address the problems in our schools and will be presenting this information in our March meeting along with explaining what you can do about it.
